Involuntary Manslaughter occurs when an individual **unintentionally causes the death of another person** due to **reckless, negligent, or unlawful actions**, but without intent to kill. **Penalties:**

* **Jail Time:** 5 to 15 years
* **Fine:** Up to $20,000
* **Additional Consequences:** Probation restrictions, possible civil liability

**Related Charges:**

* **\[1] 8 - Manslaughter (Voluntary)** *(If the killing was intentional but provoked.)*
