# \[1] 30 - Accessory to Kidnapping

**Offense Classification:** Felony

**Definition:**\
An individual is an accessory to kidnapping when, knowing that another person has committed or attempted kidnapping, the individual aids, assists, conceals, or provides resources to that person with the intent to hinder apprehension, prosecution, conviction, or punishment.

**Elements of the Crime:**

* Another person committed or attempted kidnapping.
* The suspect knew of the commission or attempt.
* The suspect provided aid, assistance, concealment, or resources.
* The suspect intended to hinder apprehension or punishment.

**Penalties:**

* Jail Time: 18 to 25 months
* Fine: 1,250 dollars to 2,750 dollars
* Additional Consequences: No contact orders, probation, community service, mandatory counseling
