# \[1] 32 - Accessory to First-Degree Murder

**Offense Classification:** Felony

**Definition:**\
An individual is an accessory to first degree murder when, knowing that another person has committed or attempted premeditated and intentional murder, the individual aids, assists, or conceals that person with the intent to hinder apprehension, prosecution, conviction, or punishment.

**Elements of the Crime:**

* Another person committed or attempted first degree murder.
* The suspect knew of the commission or attempt.
* The suspect provided aid, assistance, concealment, or resources.
* The suspect intended to hinder apprehension or punishment.

**Penalties:**

* Jail Time: 25 to 35 months
* Fine: 2,000 dollars to 4,000 dollars
* Additional Consequences: No contact orders, probation limits, mandatory counseling, restitution as appropriate
