# \[8] 10 - Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance

**Offense Classification:** **Felony**

#### **Definition:**

This applies when a person is involved in the **creation, synthesis, growing, or chemical production** of any controlled substance, regardless of class, without legal authority.

#### **Examples Include:**

* Drug labs (meth, ecstasy, pills)
* Indoor or outdoor grow operations
* Illegal pill pressing or formulation
* Compound mixing or chemical reduction
* 7+ Marijuana plants in a grow operation

#### **Penalties:**

* **Jail Time:** 10 to 20 years
* **Fine:** Up to $100,000
* **Environmental Cleanup Liability**
* **Loss of Property (used to manufacture)**

* **\[8] 1–9 – All Drug Possession and Distribution Offenses**
* **\[9] XX – Environmental Offenses (Hazardous Waste)**
* **\[3] 20 – Interference with Public Services (if power/water tampering involved)**
