# MCC 3 – Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon Within City Limits

**Offense Classification:** Misdemeanor / Felony

**Definition:**\
It is unlawful for any person to discharge a firearm within the city limits of Los Santos or within 200 feet of a paved public roadway. Discharges that endanger occupied buildings, schools, or government facilities shall be treated as felonies.

**Common Exceptions:**

* Authorized firing ranges
* Hunting in designated areas
* Self-defense

**Elements of the Crime:**

* A firearm was discharged within prohibited city areas.
* The discharge posed risk to property or public safety.
* No legal exception applied.

**Penalties:**

* **Misdemeanor:**
  * Jail Time: Up to 60 Months
  * Fine: $750
* **Felony:**
  * Jail Time: Up to 120 Months
  * Fine: $1,250
