# \[9] 2 - Hunting in a Restricted Area

**Definition**

Hunting or fishing in a restricted area is defined as the act of **engaging in hunting or fishing activities in a location where such activities are prohibited**. This includes:

* Hunting **outside of designated legal hunting zones**.
* Fishing in **protected waters or conservation areas** where fishing is not permitted.
* Engaging in hunting or fishing in **urban areas, nature preserves, or restricted zones**.
* **Failing to comply with hunting and fishing zone restrictions** as outlined on the official maps.

**Hunting and Fishing Zone Regulations**

* ✅ **Legal hunting and fishing areas** are marked **green** on the official maps.
* 🚫 **Restricted hunting and fishing areas** are marked **red** and **off-limits to all such activities**.
* Hunting or fishing in a restricted area is considered a **violation of wildlife laws** and subject to enforcement actions.

**Legal Consequences**

**Enforcement Actions**

* **Law Enforcement Officers may investigate** if a dispatch call reports an **Illegal Hunting or Fishing Activity** in a restricted area.
* Any **game or fish illegally obtained** in a restricted zone **will be seized** by authorities.
* Repeat offenders may face **increased fines, additional citations, or a full suspension of hunting and fishing licenses**.

Hunters and fishers are required to **review the official hunting and fishing zone maps** before engaging in any wildlife-related activities to ensure compliance with wildlife laws.
