# Hunting and Fishing Licenses

**Purpose of Licensing**

Hunting and fishing licenses are required to regulate and manage **wildlife populations, ensure compliance with conservation laws, and prevent overharvesting**. These licenses help enforce **legal hunting and fishing zones, seasonal restrictions, and species protections**.

**Who Needs a License?**

Any individual engaging in **hunting or fishing** in San Andreas **must** obtain a valid license. This applies to:

* **Recreational hunters and fishers**.
* **Commercial fishers** operating under legal regulations.
* **Out-of-state individuals** wishing to hunt or fish within San Andreas.

**Types of Licenses**

1. **Hunting License**
   * Grants permission to legally hunt within designated zones.
   * Required for all legal hunting activities.
   * Must be renewed annually.
2. **Fishing License**
   * Allows fishing in rivers, streams, and ocean territories.
   * Subject to species-specific limits and seasonal restrictions.
   * Required for both recreational and commercial fishing.

**Application Process**

To obtain a hunting or fishing license, applicants must:

1. **Submit an Application**
   * Applications must be submitted through designated licensing offices or online portals.
2. **Meet Eligibility Requirements**
   * Applicants must be of **legal age** and pass any required **safety or conservation courses**.
3. **Pay Required Fees**
   * Fees vary depending on **residency status and license type**.
4. **Adhere to Regulations**
   * License holders must comply with all **bag limits, zone restrictions, and conservation laws**.

**License Violations and Penalties**

Engaging in hunting or fishing activities **without a valid license** is a punishable offense. Violations include:

* **Failure to present a valid license upon request by Law Enforcement Officers**.
* **Use of an expired, revoked, or falsified license**.
* **Participating in restricted hunting or fishing activities without appropriate permits**.

#### **Consequences for License Violations**

| **Offense**                          | **Penalty**                                               |
| ------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Hunting or fishing without a license | $300 fine + potential seizure of equipment |
| Using a falsified or revoked license | Increased fine + potential suspension of future licensing |
| Repeated violations                  | Higher fines + possible hunting/fishing ban               |

By obtaining and **maintaining a valid license**, individuals contribute to **wildlife conservation and legal enforcement efforts**, ensuring that hunting and fishing remain **sustainable and fair** for all.
